Many of us will be feeling the impact of COVID-19 and we all must play a part in fighting the pandemic. We need to fight this awful coronavirus with everything we’ve got, but that also means keeping critical NHS frontline workers properly fed and healthy. We are pleased to share that Domestic & General has partnered with SalutetheNHS.org to help provide 1 million meals to NHS doctors, nurses and hospital staff over the next three months.
ICU teams, anaesthetic teams and A&E staff are unable to leave their clinical areas during their 12-hour shifts and the Salute the NHS programme is to offer nutritious, ready-to-eat meals to them free of charge. This allows them to stay in their units and not change out of their protective clothing.
This is a professional campaign, seed-funded with £1 million from the Dennis family’s Dream Chasing Foundation. It brings together some world-class UK based companies and organisations, alongside NHS Charities Together to provide catering, logistics and donation operations to make the goal a reality. We are proud to be a part of a campaign that is stepping up and playing a key role in supporting their critical work. Starting at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford, Salute the NHS begun operations on Monday 6th and has since moved to London children’s hospital Great Ormond Street, and then as directed by the government across the UK.
